PO Box 68 • Bishop Hill, IL 61419 • 309-927-3044
The Colony School was built in 1861. Classes were held here until 1953. It was purchased by the Bishop Hill Old Settlers' Association, faithfully restored, and today, it is our unofficial community center. Many annual events including The Stomp, The Antique Show, and Old Settlers' Day are held at the School. The building and surrounding grounds are available for rent for private and public parties. The remaining original blackboards and bell are charming reminders of its past and will make any occasion most memorable. The large open classroom and fully equipped kitchen makes this the perfect spot for country weddings, anniversaries, reunions, shows, and sales. For information, to view the School, or to reserve a date for your special affair, call 309-696-0833.
